Since 1994, SPORTIME has been proud to operate the finest tennis and sports facilities in New York State. SPORTIME has 15 facility locations, most recently adding the iconic Port Washington Tennis Academy, now SPORTIME Port Washington, the largest indoor racket sports facility on Long Island. SPORTIME currently offers 194 indoor and outdoor tennis courts and 70 pickleball courts, as well as rinks, turf, camps, gyms and more, at sites across Long Island, in NYC, in Westchester and in the NY Capital Region. SPORTIME clubs are state-of-the-art, yet affordable, and feature the best tennis, sports and fitness facilities and programs, including the John McEnroe Tennis Academy and SPORTIME Volleyball Club). SPORTIME clubs serve individuals of every age and athletic ability, 365 days a year.

JOB SUMMARY: To spend the day in charge of a specific sport or activity; creating, planning for, and executing the lesson plan. Coaches are responsible for having activities prepared and tailored to each group that attends his or her station throughout the camp day.

Multi-Sport Coach Responsibilities:
    Submit detailed lesson plans to camp director in ample time for them to review it
    Responsible for preparing objectives, time frames, materials needed and specific activities to be included each day at designated stations
    Be able to delegate tasks to camp counselor staff while prepping and/or cleaning up stations
    Make sure that all campers are leaving stations in a safe and timely manner

General Responsibilities of Summer Camp Staff:
    Attendance and timeliness is essential
    Be aware of any specific needs of children in the group, physical or emotional
    Communicate with other camp staff and work as part of a team
    Ensure that the facility is kept clean and tidy
    Abide by all SPORTIME policies and procedures
    Present a neat and well-groomed appearance at all times, and wear SPORTIME attire as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    Ability to maintain discipline and order with a group of children
    Ability to communicate information verbally and in writing so that others will understand
    Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds or more
    Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of whole body
    Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong

COMPENSATION: $12.00 - $18.00/hour commensurate with experience

SCHEDULE: 9:30am – 3:30pm Monday through Friday, June 24, 2024 – August 30, 2024
