SPORTIME owns and operates 19 tennis, pickleball, sports, camp and fitness clubs across NYS, including sites across Long Island, in Westchester, Manhattan and the Capital Region and New Jersey. Several of these locations currently feature both dedicated and/or “blended” pickleball courts, and offer court-time, instruction and related programs. SPORTIME is in the active process of creating and scaling its new pickleball division, the purpose of which is to own or lease, and operate, dedicated indoor and outdoor pickleball sites in our current markets and in others nearby.

JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain the highest level of attention to members and guests at all times to ensure their safety while in the pool, and the area surrounding the pool. Maintaining a high level of safety includes, but is not limited to; keeping the pool deck clean, checking tables, chairs, umbrellas and pool toys for signs of damage that need repair. Maintain proper chemical levels in the pool, and basic cleanliness of the pool.

HOURLY RATE: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour based on experience
SCHEDULE: Summer Season (May 21 - September 4, 2026). Full-time and part-time shifts available.

JOB SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivers a 5-Star guest experience
- Supervise the activities of swimmers by enforcing rules and regulations
- Warn swimmers of improper activities or hazards
- Rescue persons in distress or in danger of drowning when indicated and provide rescue breathing, CPR, and First Aid
- Notify the General Manger immediately of any accidents, rescues or problems
- Notify the General Manager about any defective or missing equipment.
- Tables and chairs are to be set up and cleaned by the opening lifeguard. Umbrellas are to be opened by the opening lifeguard and closed by the closing lifeguard.
- Ensure all members and guests are signed in to the Member Log Book
- Absolutely no cell phone, lap top computers, or hand held electric games usage whatsoever during your shift.
- Towels left in the pool area by members and guests must be brought inside and left at the front desk for cleaning at the end of each shift.
- Abide by Sportime policies and procedures
- Current lifeguard certification.
- Current WSI certification (when applicable).
- CPR/AED certification.
- American Red Cross First Aid certification.
- Ability to test pool water for proper chemical levels, and make adjustments as needed.
- Ability to communicate information verbally and in writing so others will understand
- Ability to swim to safety with a full grown adult
- Maintain proper chemical levels in the pool
- Maintain a clean and safe pool environment
WORK CONTEXT:
- In addition to the responsibilities and qualifications set forth above, this position requires physical activity, including but not limited to:
- Lifting (up to 50 lbs.), carrying, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, stretching, twisting and reaching using entire body and a
- Use of both fine and gross motor skills
- Sit and to stand for long periods of time
