LOCATION: Sportime Schenectady, Schenectady, NY
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the supervision and management of all swimming activities that occur at the swimming
pool. Supervise all lifeguards and other required pool staff during swimming activities and implement
the camp safety plan. Maintain the highest level of attention to members and guests at all times to
ensure their safety while in the pool, and the area surrounding the pool. Maintaining a high level of
safety includes, but is not limited to; keeping the pool deck clean, checking tables, chairs, umbrellas
and pool toys for signs of damage that need repair. Maintain proper chemical levels in the pool, and
basic cleanliness of the pool.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attendance is an essential job function
- Report to all shifts on time; according to your agreed upon schedule
- Review and document the camp’s safety plan for swimming
- Supervise the lifeguards and other pool staff
- Check pool chemicals at least 3 times a day
- Be aware of your surroundings and report anything you see that is unsafe
- Report all incidents/accidents to the General Manager as soon as possible
- Abide by SPORTIME policies and procedures at all times
SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a lifeguard
- Possess current certification in a training course for lifeguard supervision and management
- Minimum one year experience supervising at least 2 employees
- Up to date CPR/AED certification.
- Up to date American Red Cross First Aid certification
- Certified swimming instructor, WSI a plus
- Certified Pool Operator, a plus
- Ability to swim and carry adults to safety
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to test pool water for proper chemical levels, and make adjustments as needed
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing so that others will understand

SCHEDULE: Summer Season (June 23 - August 31, 2025). Flexibility to be either a full-time or part-time position.
