Forbes Magazine ranked The John McEnroe Tennis Academy as one of the Top 5 academies in the United States. Our Sports Performance team is seeking a dynamic, personable, knowledgeable and hard working strength and conditioning coach for current opening.
JOB SUMMARY:
Must have a passion for working with youth and high school athletes – direct work with tennis players is a strong asset.
Emphasis is on top-ranked, elite and recreational junior tennis players between the ages of 5 – 18yrs old with varied fitness and movement levels, who attend our JMTA programs during the calendar year, as well as our holiday and summer camps.
This coach will work in conjunction with the Director, Associate Director and other Sports Performance coaches in the safe instruction and correct execution of all training programming deemed appropriate for the specific individuals and groups one is working with. The athletic development of our players at every level is a priority.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Candidates should have an array of knowledge and experience in executing dynamic warm up preparation,
- Movement drills relevant to tennis, along with other change of direction sports, functional strength,
- Power and plyometric training,
- Creative programming, energy system development, especially as it relates to the sport and injury prevention.
- Other responsibilities will be assigned by the Director contingent upon one’s experience and qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS (required one or more of the below):
- Bachelor’s degree or Masters degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Kinesiology or a related field is preferred.
- Should have at least 2 years of professional work experience in the field.
- Certification(s) from National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA CSCS), Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA), or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
- All other relevant certifications/education will be considered.
COMPENSATION: $40 per hour group rate
$65 per hour private rate
SCHEDULE: Part-time
